Dialog Semiconductor To Buy Atmel For $4.6 Billion

German chipmaker Dialog Semiconductor (DLGS.DE) has agreed to buy U.S. rival Atmel (ATML.O) for about $4.6 billion, adding to a wave of dealmaking in the sector.
